(ooc: As explained in Gauche's app, applying for Droite and her separately because they differ so much despite being twins.)
Quote: “Yeager, Gauche… help me…”
Name: Droite (French for ‘right’)
Alias: None
Age: 18
Film/Show/Game/Book/Comic: Tales of Vesperia
Species: Human
Height: 5’3”
Weight: 110 pounds
Basic Appearance: Being Gauche’s twin, Droite looked an awful lot like her. The two girls were in their late teens and shared the same, medium height and weight. She has long hair like Gauche’s, only hers appears more ruffled than Gauche’s. Her bright green hair is usually kept in high pig tails by black hair bands with tiny plastic spikes on them, and unlike Gauche Droite does not wear a clip in her hair. Instead, Droite wears a black choker around her neck. Droite’s eyes are bright green in color as well. She wears a grey and black colored dress with a smoky-grey vest over it. She also wears a yellow tie of sorts to top off her look, but Droite’s look is completed by the skull shaped charm attached to the tie. She wears boots similar to Gauche’s and also has a similar orange scrap tied around her leg, only hers is tied around her right leg.
At least, that is how she used to look. Droite’s happy-go-lucky appearance has taken a horrible turn since being captured and made a part of the circus.
At first, it appeared as though nothing had happened after the first experiments she went through. However, it soon became evident that something had indeed happened. Sharp, dark green feathers began to appear all over Droite’s body. The process was painful, and the more feathers began to grow in the more Droite wanted to end her horrid experience. Soon enough, though, the feathers covered most of her body and only a few small patches of bare skin were left. Her fingernails lengthened and hardened, essentially becoming claws, and Droite began to prefer moving on all fours as opposed to on two legs. A tail, though relatively short all things considered, also grew along with a pair of small, curved horns and a small set of wings. The wings mostly appear to be for decoration, but even if they weren’t Droite doesn’t possess the desire to learn to fly in her present state. Droite's body also became more flexible and she lost her... feminine features for the most part. Either that, or they have become so covered in feathers that they are indistinguishable from them.
Droite’s face also lengthened significantly, giving her a snout and only succeeding in making her look more like a feathery dragon girl. Droite does still possess the ability to walk on two legs, and does so from time to time, but still prefers walking on four legs. At least, she did until her left arm started to look strange in her eyes. Droite didn’t know what it was, but she felt the desire to just start chewing her left arm viciously with her newly acquired sharp teeth. It was more out of mercy than looking to amuse herself that the Ringmaster cut away Droite’s left arm entirely. The only remaining features of her human appearance are her hair, which somehow maintained its form even when the horns had formed, her bright green eyes, and what was left of her clothing from the transformation. When not performing, Droite is made to wear a muzzle so that she won’t try to rip herself apart again. Since Droite has become rather skittish around the other workers of the circus, she only trusts Gauche to remove her muzzle when she wishes to speak.
Mutations: Droite has essentially become a dragon-girl in appearance, growing sharp feathers all over her body along with small curved horns on her head, long sharp claws, a set of wings, and even a tail. Droite’s teeth also have grown a bit longer and definitely sharper than they used to be. Due to losing herself briefly to animalistic urges, Droite nearly tore apart her left arm and the Ringmaster was forced to amputate it so that she couldn’t hurt herself any further. The experimentation has also had an effect on her mind, making Droite give in to animalistic urges from time to time and making her want to rip either herself or anyone who happens to be nearby apart.
Picture: (before the experimentation)
Personality: Droite is the yin to Gauche’s yang. While Gauche is serious and a no-nonsense girl, Droite is fun-loving and very silly. She can take things seriously from time to time, but most of the time the green-haired girl is anything but serious. She is more trusting than Gauche, more than willing to try and make friends with others and trusting of most everybody. She is extremely loyal to Gauche and is willing to do anything for her, but sometimes doesn’t understand the danger that means she’d have to put herself in. In that sense, Droite is far more naïve than Gauche.
Since being experimented on, though, Droite’s cheerful nature has faltered significantly. She isn’t as cheerful as she used to be and has become prone to violent tendencies. She has also become skittish out of fear of hurting herself and others, and so only trusts the people closest to her to touch her. She only allows Gauche to take off and put on her muzzle as a result of this (before Gauche arrived, the Ringmaster forced someone to apply the muzzle to Droite and never took it off). She still is friendly and wants to make friends, but partly fears that she might end up hurting someone just for trying to get close to her.
Enemies: Brave Vesperia and Alexei, mostly, along with the Ringmaster. Otherwise, left for roleplay
Allies: Gauche (twin sister) and Yeager (adopted father). Otherwise, left for roleplay
Family: Gauche (twin sister), Yeager (adopted father), and unknown parents (both of whom are dead).
Role: A part of the circus cast
History: When Guache and her twin sister, Droite, were eight years old, they were caught in the midst of the terrible war going on between the Entelexia and humans. As a result of the war, the girls lost their parents and their home. They were taken in by an orphanage of the port town Capuua Torrim where they spent most of their days after the end results of the war. Droite didn’t want to see her sister sad because of what had happened, and so she promised herself that she would do whatever she could to make her happy.
In the passing years that followed, Droite was pleasantly surprised by the arrival of a strange man. She didn’t know much about him, as Gauche didn’t know much about him either, beyond the fact that his name was Yeager and that he had donated quite a bit of money to the orphanage without asking for anything in return. Droite couldn’t believe it! He was like a man from the fairy tale books they sometimes read! Droite believed that it was destiny that she and Gauche had come across him, and believed that they should trust him, but Gauche was less willing to believe such a thing. After much convincing, though, Droite was able to get Gauche to agree to come along with her so that they could thank Yeager properly for helping the orphanage. After many failed attempts at following Yeager that always ended with them back at the orphanage, Gauche and Droite successfully followed him all the way to his home at the Manor of the Wicked. Needless to say, Yeager was impressed by their resolve and promptly took the girls into his guild, Leviathan’s Claw.
Yeager taught Gauche and Droite the art of self-defense and even crafted special swords for the two girls to suit their specific fighting styles. As Yeager continued to teach them, Gauche and Droite both found themselves becoming closer to Yeager. Droite had felt it from the start, and she believed that Yeager was just the father figure that she and Gauche had been waiting for. She believed that everything was going just as it should. They had found their fairy tale ending.
But, unfortunately, nothing lasts forever. It turned out that Yeager wasn’t as powerful as he seemed to be, and that his boss, a man called Alexei, had discovered just what he had been doing behind the scenes to help Gauche and Droite. Droite was oblivious to what he was doing by leading them to the shrine at Zaude. She was confused when he asked for her and Gauche to give him their weapons and ordered them to get as far away from Zaude as possible. The green-haired girl didn’t put two and two together until she at last realized that perhaps Yeager wasn’t meant to be a prince in shining armor. No, perhaps he was meant to be a tragic hero. Tragic heroes… don’t get happy endings.
It was then that she realized that there was a chance Yeager, who she had always viewed as being invincible, might very well die. Her argument was more tear-filled than Gauche’s, but they both tried to get their point across. They wanted to help him fight, and they’d be damned if he made them leave. They eventually reached a compromise of Yeager letting them keep their weapons at the price of being forced to stay and watch what went down from the sidelines. As much as Gauche and Droite hated to do so, they witnessed his death at the hands of Brave Vesperia. Droite was crushed by what happened, but somehow she was able to flee along with Gauche. She didn’t want to do much after that, feeling too depressed by the loss of Yeager to do anything else. However, seeing Gauche’s resolve to get stronger fueled her desire to get revenge for Yeager. She would fight Brave Vesperia alongside Gauche.
Eventually she and Gauche did meet Brave Vesperia again, and after explaining why they had only watched as Yeager was killed they challenged the guild to a fight they ultimately lost. In exchange for giving up a special bow that had belonged to Yeager’s old lover, Gauche decided to let Brave Vesperia go. Droite was okay with letting them go and didn’t dwell that much on it, but still wanted to get back at them for tearing away her and Gauche’s adopted father.
One day, Droite felt as though something was calling her. She didn’t know what it was or where it was, but she left the Manor o the Wicked without telling Gauche where she was going and soon came to a strange circus place. She was promptly abducted and experimented upon, and for a while it looked as though Droite had gotten off scott-free with the experimentation. Maybe the experiments were just duds. Maybe Droite was immune. It turned out, though, that she wasn’t. It wasn’t long until she underwent the painful process of becoming a dragon girl. She lost her human form almost entirely and gave in to animalistic desires to try and tear herself apart. As a result she lost her left arm and was forced into the Ringmaster’s dark circus. It was one day during a performance that she spotted Gauche amongst a crowd. Droite wanted to call out to her, but didn’t want to interrupt the performance. Instead she only acknowledged Gauche with a nod until after the performance. Even then Droite didn’t get the chance to speak to her. Her redheaded sister was determined to try and save her, and Droite was grateful, but she didn’t know if she could be saved. Even if she could, Droite doubted she would be human again.
Gauche, however, did promise she would try and help her. She had gained a position as a circus worker, and could get close to Droite without worry. Droite was glad to have someone close to her with her, but feared that she might lose herself and hurt Gauche. All she really could do was hope that somehow Gauche could find a way to save her.
Sample Post: This wasn’t how fairy tales were supposed to go. Not at all. Princesses weren’t supposed to be turned into dragons. Dragons weren’t supposed to have feathers. They weren’t supposed to try and tear themselves apart either, were they? Droite didn’t know anymore. Why had she ended up in this strange place, anyway? She didn’t pretend to know. Droite wished, like she had many times before, that she had stayed home. She wished she had stayed with Gauche.
Droite rested her right paw over her muzzled snout and let out a long sigh. She wanted to go home. She wanted to be human again. Droite wanted Yeager back. She wanted things to be the way they ought to be. Even with her muzzle preventing her from speaking, her words were clear enough: I want to be free.
