(ooc: applying for Gauche and Droite separately because of their differing personalities and appearances, despite their being twins.)
Quote: “I’ll do whatever it takes to free you, Droite. Just… hold on.”
Name: Gauche (French for ‘left’)
Alias: None
Age: 18
Film/Show/Game/Book/Comic: Tales of Vesperia
Species: Human
Height: 5’3”
Weight: 110 pounds
Basic Appearance: Gauche is a girl in her late teens of medium height. Her hair long and bright red in color, and typically it is kept in neat pigtails held back by green hair bands. Also noticeable in her hair is a sunflower hairclip that holds back her bangs just a little. Gauche’s eyes are also a pinkish red in color. Gauche typically is seen wearing a long sleeved, short skirted grey and white colored dress adorned with a black vest over it along with a yellow tie of sorts held in place with a sunflower clip. She also wears dark grey high heeled boots and a strange orange bit of cloth tied around her left leg by a black ribbon.

Personality: Gauche is mostly known for her seemingly cold, serious nature. She is serious to a fault and a no-nonsense sort of girl, and seems to brush off any attempts from Droite at lightening the mood. Deep down, though, Gauche does have a softer side. She rarely shows this side of herself, tending to keep it hidden to all but Droite, and as a result does not have many friends because of her serious nature. Gauche also has a bit of a temper and isn’t afraid to show it, especially now that Droite ended up captured and turned into an experiment. Gauche is incredibly loyal to Droite, the only serviving member of her family left, and is willing to put her life on the line for her. When meeting new people, Gauche tends to be overly cautious and snappy at them. It takes a while for her to openly trust new people, as she is afraid of losing anyone else close to her.
Enemies: The members of Brave Vesperia (Karol, Yuri, Raven, Repede, Estelle, Rita, and Judith) for killing Yeager, and Alexei namely. She also doesn’t like the Ringmaster of the circus and can’t stand her co-workers.
Allies: Droite (twin sister), Yeager (adopted father), and the members of Leviathan’s Claw. Otherwise, left for roleplay
Family: Droite (twin sister), Yeager (adopted father), and unnamed mother and father (both of whom are dead)
Role: An unwilling worker for the circus
History: When Guache and her twin sister, Droite, were eight years old, they were caught in the midst of the terrible war going on between the Entelexia and humans. As a result of the war, the girls lost their parents and their home. They were taken in by an orphanage of the port town Capuua Torrim where they spent most of their days after the end results of the war. Gauche vowed that she would do what she could to protect her naïve, light-hearted sister from the dangers of the world.
Much to Gauche’s surprise in the passing years, a strange man began to frequent the orphanage. She and Droite didn’t know much about the man, only that his name was Yeager, and were only really aware of the fact that he was helping the orphanage by donating large amounts of money to it. What confused Gauche was that he asked for nothing in return. While Gauche wasn’t so quick to trust him, Droite eventually convinced her that they ought to thank Yeager for all that he had done for their supposed home. Gauche and Droite attempted to escape the orphanage several times and attempted to follow Yeager back to his home, but each time he discovered them and returned them to the orphanage. One day, though, the pair successfully followed him all the way to his domain at the Manor of the Wicked. Gauche’s strong resolve to follow him touched Yeager, and at last he made the decision to take her and Droite into his guild, Leviathan’s Claw.
Yeager taught Gauche and Droite the art of self-defense and even crafted special swords for the two girls to suit their specific fighting styles. As Yeager continued to teach them, Gauche and Droite both found themselves becoming closer to Yeager. Gauche felt that she could truly trust the man. She had found a new father. A new home. Everything seemed to be absolutely perfect.
However, nothing lasts forever. Yeager wasn’t the top dog in a long chain of organizations, after all. His real boss, a man named Alexei, eventually found out what he had done behind the scenes for Gauche and her sister. One day, Yeager led Gauche and Droite to the shrine of Zaude which had recently appeared. Gauche assumed that they were going to there to train so that they could better combat any threat they faced. The real reason for coming horrified Gauche. Yeager told her and Droite to surrender their weapons to him and told them to get as far away from Zaude as possible. It was then that she put two and two together; Yeager was going to die somehow. She and Droite argued for their right to keep their weapons and for their right to stay by his side, and eventually they reached a compromise. Yeager allowed them to keep their weapons, but they would need to stay at Zaude and only watch as Yeager faced Brave Vesperia all on his own. Doing so tore Gauche’s heart apart. The man she considered her and Droite’s new father died right before her eyes, and the two had been ordered to just watch as it happened. Heartbroken, Gauche fled along with Droite after Yeager died. She vowed that she and Droite would avenge Yeager. She promised herself that she wouldn’t be weak so that she could better combat Brave Vesperia.
Eventually she and Droite did meet Brave Vesperia again, and after explaining why they had only watched as Yeager was killed they challenged the guild to a fight they ultimately lost. In exchange for giving up a special bow that had belonged to Yeager’s old lover, Gauche decided to let Brave Vesperia go. She wouldn’t rest until they were defeated by her and Droite, but she was satisfied for the time being.
One day, though, Gauche woke up to find Droite was missing. In a panicked frenzy, Gauche searched all over Terca Lumeries for her. Gauche wouldn’t lose her sister. Not so soon after they had lost Yeager. Gauche couldn’t allow herself to let something happen to her happy-go-lucky, goofball of a sister. Eventually, Gauche came upon a strange circus. She wandered the circus grounds for quite a while until she happened upon a tent where a show was being performed. To her horror, Gauche recognized one of the performers. The former girl’s bright green spiky hair and bright green eyes that seemed to be calling to Gauche gave her away. Droite had ended up captured. Horrified, Gauche demanded to see the Ringmaster of the circus. Gauche attempted to demand that her sister be returned to her, but the sheer fact that Droite had been so mutated and disfigured prevented her from being able to really do anything. The Ringmaster had her wrapped around her finger. Gauche was helpless, and Droite was trapped as a performer. What could Gauche hope to do in such a situation?
…It was then that Gauche had to make one of the most difficult decisions of her life. The Ringmaster had mentioned something about working for the circus in exchange for possibly gaining Droite’s freedom. It wasn’t much, but Gauche thought that maybe she had a chance at freeing her sister. Reluctantly, Gauche agreed to become a part of the crew that worked with the circus. Since she wouldn’t be a performer, Gauche wasn’t experimented upon like Droite, but she had access to her sister. Now Gauche works for the circus, silently awaiting her opportunity to somehow free Droite and escape.

Pink eyes carefully scanned the catacombs, looking for any signs of her co-workers in the dark. When Gauche discovered nothing of that sort, she let out a soft sigh and began to make her way forward. Gauche absolutely hated her situation. What would Yeager have to say about it? He surely wouldn’t be happy that Droite had ended up in the situation she had. Gauche cringed inwardly. The redhead partly blamed herself for what had happened. Why hadn’t she kept a better eye on Droite? Why hadn’t she asked the remaining members of Leviathan’s Claw if they had seen her?
“Droite? Are you in there?” Gauche asked as she reached a cage farther away from the others. “It’s me. Gauche.” Gauche added, almost as if she thought her sister would need clarification of who it was. Though, she had to wonder if that really was the case. In the passing days her sister seemed to become less and less like the girl she knew. She wasn’t her sister anymore, at least not in physical appearance. The redhead spotted movement toward the back of the cage, indicating that Droite was at least awake, and carefully she opened the cage door and made her way inside. Reckless? No doubt. Gauche didn’t particularly care, though. Droite was her sister. She wouldn’t hurt her.
“I’m sorry this is taking so long. I’m trying my best to work out some way of freeing you. Just give me more time.” Gauche said. As those words left her mouth, the familiar brilliant green eyes of her sister met her pink orbs. Gauche could feel the pain in Droite’s gaze. Droite didn’t want to be in the situation any more than Gauche did. In a very rare moment of weakness Gauche let a sniffle escape her. “I promise… I’m going to get you out of here.” Gauche murmured.
