Quote: “Damned Collette. I swear she’s behind this. This… look at me! I’m a monster now.”
Name: Annette
Alias: N/A
Age: 15 (dog years)
Film/Show/Game/Book/Comic: Lady and the Tramp II: Scamp’s Adventure
Species: Dog (Cocker Spaniel/mutt cross)
Height: 9 inches
Weight: 5lbs
Basic Appearance: (Prior to the mutation) Like her sisters, Annette had honey-coloured fur, darker ears, and lighter chest, paws, muzzle and head-stripe. Like Danielle, her ears are shoulder-length, although unlike her sister’s hers are always perfectly groomed. Her dark brown eyes resemble her mother’s. She wears a blue collar with a gold tag, which sits looser around her neck that her siblings’ do.
Mutations: While her face and head have remained intact – with the exception of one eye, which is twisted to as to be permanently forced closed –, Annette’s body is hideously distorted. Most of her fur is missing between the line of her collar and her midsection, and her hindquarters are twisted to the point where her back legs extend over her head, forcing the cocker-cross to stand solely on her front legs at all times. Naturally, this is a horribly uncomfortable state to be in. In addition, Annette’s tail has been split down the middle so that she now has two identical tails, and her neck has swollen, making her collar a painfully tight fit now.
Picture: (Prior to the mutation) (On the right)
Personality: Annette is supposedly the more intelligent one of her sisters, taking after her mother’s IQ, and as such, she has a need to be right. All the time. She’s rather sceptical, negative, and somewhat prissy, although quite a lot of this is a carefully constructed façade to shield the sensitive girl underneath. And, to quote Bri on DA: “She has high standards but is not as highly-strung and demanding as Collette.”
Since the mutations, she has grown bitter, to the point of blaming Collette for her deformities.
Enemies: Left for RP
Allies: Left for RP
Family: Danielle, Collette, Scamp (siblings), Lady and Tramp (parents), Angel (adopted sister)
Role: Unwilling cast member
History: Annette is one of Lady and Tramp’s puppies, and the self-appointed leader – at least of her sisters, since Scamp would never listen to her. Despite that, she still cared for her brother – although she would NEVER tell that to him or anyone else – so it hurt her a bit when he ran away, even though he returned not too long after.
Annette’s nightmare began on what seemed like an ordinary day. She and Collette had headed out into the town on something of a ‘guy hunt’ – after all, now that Scamp had that Angel girl, why shouldn’t they seek out romantic interests for themselves? – when they were scooped up by a man they couldn’t see. Instead of being taken to the pound, as they had expected, the two cocker crosses were instead shipped off to the circus, where they were separated and Annette was cruelly experimented on, resulting in the twisted form that now passes for her body, and imprisoned to be a part of the ‘show’. She never knew what happened to Collette – but the one time she glimpsed her sister after a week of misery, the other cocker had looked immaculate as usual, leading Annette to assume that Collette had some part in what had happened to her – which quickly prompted the bitterness Annette now feels towards her sister to grow.
Sample Post:
And again, the cage was opened.
Again, she was paraded in front of the jeering hordes, to laugh at her hairless upper torso, twisted hindquarters and double tails.
And again, she returned to her cage in utter misery, to curl up in the corner, all alone. Knowing her life would never again be more than this. With nothing to even keep her company.
And then, movement outside. Curious in spite of herself, Annette pushed her misshapen body around to look through the bars-
In time to see Collette parade past. The longer-eared cocker’s fur was as perfectly groomed as always, and she bore none of the deformities Annette was cursed with. Annette’s sister didn’t even look in her direction, simply strode past, wearing what looked almost like a contented smile.
Like she hadn’t a care in the world.
Annette squeezed her eyes shut, unable to bear her sister’s perfectness compared to her own current hideous form.
And the bitterness started to grow.
Collette was perfect. She, Annette, was ruined.
It wasn’t logical. But in the most painful times, logic is rarely adhered to.
It must have been Collette’s fault.
Annette curled up in the corner of the cage again. But she wasn’t alone anymore.
No. Now she had her steadily growing resentment of Collette to keep her company.
