Name: Hiccup Horrendous Haddock III
Alias: NA
Age: 15
Film/Show/Game/Book/Comic: How to Train Your Dragon
Species: Human
Height: 5'0"
Weight: 100 pounds
Basic Appearance: Hiccup is a scrawny teenager with a twiggy build to him, unlike the rest of the Vikings in his village who are much buffer and stronger than him. He has short, scruffy red hair and bright green eyes, and his face is speckled all over with freckles. Typically Hiccup wears a green long sleeved shirt, brown pants, a brown fur vest of some sort, and brown boots. His left leg was injured badly, and so he has a prosthetic in place of what was once his leg.
Mutations: Since being captured, Hiccup was mutated rather strangely. His senses have been heightened significantly, particularly sight, smell, and hearing, but physical changes have been the biggest difference. His ears are now big, pointed, and black like Toothless'. They can move about so that he can hear better and express emotions. He also has large, leathery Night Fury wings and a long tail like Toothless'. His skin is also darker and scalier. He has yet to discover this, but Hiccup can also breathe fire.
Picture:
Personality: Blunt and sarcastic tendencies mostly make up Hiccup's verbal self. He is a thinker more than he is an action oriented person, tending to think strategically in relation to things he's about to do and liking to think through certain situations. He is known for coming up with rather crazy, almost suicidal, ideas from time to time but when they work out he makes them work like no one would believe. Behind the sarcasm and bluntness is a more reserved, quiet sort of teen with no real desire to do idiotic things most boys would enjoy doing. Hiccup is known for having a good heart despite his sarcastic tendencies and is willing to go against the grain if the situation calls for it. While he isn't necessarily the bravest teen in the world, Hiccup is brave in the aspect that he's willing to challenge the beliefs of others.
Enemies: None
Allies: Toothless, Astrid, Fishlegs, Ruffnut, Tuffnut, and Snotlout
Family: Stoick the Vast (father), Valhallerama (mother, deceased), Spitelout (uncle), and Snotlout (cousin)
Role: Cast member
History: Hiccup was born and raised the son of chief Stoick the Vast in the village of Berk. He really didn't fit in all that well around home, often being viewed as the black sheep of the village, and more often than not was told that he was nothing but a failure as a Viking. He tried everything he could to fit in with the rest of the village, even going so far as to try and catch the illusive species of dragon known as the Night Fury one night during a dragon raid. While he did succeed in catching one, he also succeeded in almost being attacked by a Monstrous Nightmare and having to have Stoick save his twiggy butt. Soon after that, it was decided that his wish would come true and that he would be put in dragon killing classes with the other teens of Berk. The problem was that right before that, he went out looking for the Night Fury he had caught and attempted to kill him... only to discover that he was too kind to kill him. He let the Night Fury go free and decided he didn't want to kill dragons.
Hiccup went through training with the other teens, but he was miserable at it. After training he went out looking for the Night Fury again and did find him in a secluded sort of cove. He met with the Night Fury a few times and slowly began to gain his trust, learning more about him and even dubbing him Toothless as he began to grow friendlier toward the dragon. Through Toothless, Hiccup learned that dragons weren't so bad. In fact, he didn't think they were bad at all after befriending Toothless. Because his new friend had lost one of his tail fins as a result of being captured, Hiccup created a new fin for him and helped him learn to fly again.
The trouble with keeping all of this a secret was the fact that he was using what knowledge he gained from hanging out with Toothless to benefit him in dragon killing classes. While he didn't actually kill a dragon, he was able to subdue them with dragon nip and scratching them in just the right places. The people of Berk, even Stoick, began to think that Hiccup really was a dragon slayer. It was soon determined that he should be the one to kill a Nightmare for his final exam. Instead of wanting to do that, though, Hiccup decided to try and run away with Toothless. In the end, though, he was discovered by another teen named Astrid and soon took her out on a romantic flight with Toothless just to show her that dragons weren't bad.
The three of them discovered after that flight the real reason why dragons raided Berk. They needed to obtain food for a massive dragon that would eventually be known as the Green Death, facing death if they didn't bring it enough food. While Astrid wanted to tell the other Vikings about what they had learned, Hiccup wanted to keep quiet about it to keep Toothless safe. He decided that he was going to reveal the truth about his 'skill' as a dragon slayer during his final exam, but this went horribly wrong when Stoick freaked the Nightmare Hiccup was meant to kill out and sent it on a rampage. Fortunately for Hiccup, he wasn't killed because Toothless came to his aid. Everything he had kept secret came tumbling out and Stoick decided to use Toothless to lead the Vikings to the dragons' nest.
With support from Astrid and the other teens, Hiccup decided they needed to go after the adults to save them from what could have been a horrible demise. Using the other dragons that had been held captive for training purposes, Hiccup and the others flew to the aid of the adults and went to save Toothless. Before Hiccup and Toothless went off to try and fight the Green Death, Stoick apologized for what he had said to Hiccup (and for everything else). This only left the task of killing the Green Death. Hiccup and Toothless were able to defeat it using a rather suicidal tactic of almost getting eaten to breathe fire in its mouth and the day was saved. However, Hiccup lost a part of his left leg in the process of being a hero. He was, however, finally accepted in his village along with the dragons.
Everything seemed peaceful for a long time after that. No more dragon raids, no more Green Death to worry about, and no more secrets to keep. Hiccup was enjoying life very much right then. But then... one day while he was taking a break from flying he thought he heard something in the woods. He told Toothless to stay put so he could investigate, and the next thing he knew he was knocked out by something. When he regained his senses he was laying on a table and someone was getting ready to inject him with something. The last thing Hiccup remembered before he passed out again was intense pain and something sprouting from his back. When he woke up again, he was in a cage and possessed features very similar to Toothless'. Wings, ear-like appendages, and even a tail. His skin was also darker and looked a bit scalier. He didn't know what happened, but he was quickly filled in that he was to perform as a dragon boy.
Sample Post: "...ka...?"
What? What was that? Hiccup felt as though his head had been repeatedly slammed against the ground or something of that nature. But he swore he heard a voice. Who was it? What were they trying to say?
"Are you okay?"
Now the voice was clearer. Hiccup's eyes fluttered half way open and a low groan escaped his lips. Everything hurt. Hiccup could only think of one other time when he had hurt so much, and that was when he had woken up after defeating the Green Death. It took a few moments, but soon enough he registered the fact that he was staring in the direction of what appeared to be a feathery dragon with green hair and eyes... and only one arm. Hiccup didn't dare try to speak, but it looked as though the dragon was going to speak for him.
"Oh, good! I was so worried when they brought you in that the experiments had killed you." she (at least, Hiccup assumed it was a she based on her voice) said. ...Wait. Experiments? Hiccup pushed himself into a sitting position to look himself over, only to let a sharp gasp follow. Wings. He had wings and a tail! And... he brought his hands to his head, only to feel something scaly to the touch. Whatever was coming from his head, he almost didn't want to know.
"What in the name of the gods happened to me??"
