Sibling Rivalry

[Pavi Largo]

Pavi's smile suddenly fell at this, hearing the crack in Amber's voice and seeing the nervousness in her hurt expression. He quickly shook his head, taking Amber's hands into his own and trying to meet her gaze. While they might bicker and fight a good deal of the time, Pavi and Amber were always extremely close growing up. Admittedly, Pavi's femininity had something to do with that fact...but Amber was also very similar to him in other way. And when they were younger, she was the only thing Pavi had had left as a reminder of their mother.

In short, he cared for her a great deal. Perhaps more than brothers and sisters should care for one another, but Pavi pushed that thought aside as he held his sister's hands in his own.

"No," he said firmly, knowing that Amber would no doubt feel a bit put out by his sudden confession. It made him feel a bit guilty, but there was no turning back now. "Sorellina...no one will-a ever take-a your place in-a my heart. I may love-a Mina, but-a you'll always be-a my little sister, amore. And-a nothing, not even-a her, will change-a that," Pavi explained, pressing his lips to Amber's forehead gently as he finished.

Amber nodded trying not to cry but a few tears escaped her eyes when he kissed her forhead. She wanted to believe Pavi that they'd still be as close as they were now, and that would never change. But she had her doubts.

"Alright." She said nodding and trying to regain her composure. Amber leaned forward and kissed Pavi gently on the mouth. "I'll....try to like her,if only for you Pavi."
Amber doubted she'd like the woman very much, but if Mina meant that much to Pavi, she'd at least try and get to know the woman first.

"So tell me more about her, what's she like? I'm guessing she's nice and honest. Otherwise you wouldn't have anything to do with her."
That much Amber knew, Pavi didn't put up with liars. Any of the Geneterns who lied to him about certain things would usually end up dead.

Pavi gave a soft smile as Amber kissed him, pulling her into a quick embrace as she tried to control her emotions. Neither were normally so...sentimental, for lack of a better word, with anyone, but around each other they knew that they could let their guard down just a little. And Pavi appreciated that about his sister.

"Thank you, tersora," Pavi smiled, pulling back and keeping her hands in his own. He would try not to talk too incessantly about Mina, as it would probably only make Amber feel more jealous, but he hoped that she would like her and understand his feelings for her.

"Of-a course. She's incredibly kind...and-a beautiful," Pavi sighed, smiling to himself at the thought of her. "But she's...different, than-a most women I normally go after," Pavi explained. "She's-a very...assertive. It takes awhile to see-a her softer side. But she can-a be so sweet and-a caring...and probably the most intelligent woman I've-a ever met."

Amber nodded, it didn't surprise her at all that Pavi would go after a beautiful woman. As if Pavi wouldn't be caught dead with a person less attractive than himself. However it did surprise Amber when he described her as 'assertive' and 'intelligent'.

Pretty much all of the women in Pavi's past, that Amber knew of anyway, were usually the exact opposite of what he had just described. He tended to go for the giggly, flirty, bimbo types who were very, very easy to get into bed with minimal effort. And given Pavi's flirtatious and charismatic nature he could usually bed them by giving them a seductive look or gesture not even bothering to say a word.

"What do the two of you talk about, I mean when you're not having sex? I can't really picture you having long conversations with anyone."

Pavi was a bit surprised by that question, and pondered it for a moment. Holding his chin in one hand, Pavi answered, "Everything, I suppose. We talk about our-a day, about-a what we'd-a be doing if-a she weren't-a stuck there..." Pavi sighed a bit at that. They'd been talking about that an awful lot lately...and if Pavi could just convince the Ringleader to let him take Mina away, they'd actually be doing what they talked about so often.

"And-a sometimes we talk about-a our pasts...when-a she feels-a like it," Pavi said, a bit more quietly with a small frown. Neither of them were very comfortable talking about their pasts with most people, but with one another they felt slightly more comfortable, but were still getting used to things as far as how open they were around each other.

"That sounds...nice." Amber said after awhile. And it did, being at the top of the world had it's perks as well as it's downfalls. One of them being the fact that none of them really knew who to trust with personal and sensitive info. So a lot of the time the Largo's would end up botteling their feelings up.

Pavi was lucky that he had someone he trusted enough to open up and talk about things. Even simple things like how his day had been going. And the fact that he talked about his past at all was enough to convince Amber that Pavi really did care about this Mina woman.

Amber just hoped that this woman shared the same deep feelings her brother had. Ambers brow creased when she thought about if she didn't, how Pavi would be heart broken the very first time he fell in love.
"And does she feel the same way about you, Pavi? Because you know, a lot of times you can fall in love with someone and they won't feel the same way back."

Pavi paused, considering the question for a moment. Mina had said she loved him...in fact she'd practically sworn on her life that she did. But could he be sure solely on her word?

After a few more moments of consideration, Pavi slowly nodded, looking at his sister with another happy smile. "Si. I think she does-a," he assured her. "And...even if-a she did-a not, I would-a still want to help her out of-a her situation."

Thinking for a moment, Pavi at last sighed, knowing that it wouldn't be as simple as that, especially now that Luigi was involved. "Amber, I know that-a her harming Luigi was out of-a," Pavi frowned. "But I will-a give up my share of-a GeneCo before I let him try and harm-a her back. Or use-a her over my head, for-a that matter. So expect-a backlash."

Amber let out an irritated sigh at that, if Luigi was involved there was no telling what would happen. Given his temper, and the fact that it involved Pavi, Amber was willing to bet he'd run right to the circus and stab Mina to death.

"Well..whatever he does won't be good I'm sure." Amber said moving her feet off of Pavi's lap. "And you might have to buy her a body guard or something to keep her protected. You and I both know Luigi holds grudges better than anyone." She gave her brother a sympathic look.

"I just hope she's worth all this trouble Pavi, I'd hate to see you waste your time chasing after some woman and getting hurt in the process. And you and I both know what'll happen if that ever happens."

Which was true, in the past when some guy had strung Amber along using her for her body or her money Pavi had stepped in to take care of him for her. And it was obvious that if the same every happend to Pavi, though his heart had never been broken before, Amber would do exactly the same to any man or woman who did the same thing to her big brother.

Pavi frowned at the thought of having to hire someone to guard Mina from his own brother, but knew that Amber was right. That was the way that it was, and had always been, in the Largo household. You could never turn your back, or in this case, someone else's, on anyone. Especially each other.

"She is," Pavi nodded, his frown breaking into a small grin. But yes, he did know what would happen if she were to break his heart. After the time when Amber had nearly lost her heart to some poor boy, Pavi knew that their relationship practically dictated that they look after one another's hearts.

But this was different. Pavi was sure that Mina would never do anything to hurt him, and even if she did, Pavi doubted that he could bring himself to hurt her back. He simply cared for her too much. "Grazie, sorella," Pavi smiled, kissing Amber chastely on the lips. Pulling back with a larger smile, he added, "But I don't-a think it will-a be necessary. I cannot wait-a for you to meet her."

"I'm just glad you're, happy." Amber said smiling a tiny bit. Though inside she felt like a bundle of nerves. Still worried, despite Pavi's reassuance that he'd never leave her and that he would always love her, that he'd forget all about her.
And even though she was glad he was happy and had found someone, she was also jealous. Jealous of him, jealous of Mina, jealous that they had found eachother.

"You know an alarm system on her tent or...whereever she stays, might work too. Since I don't think the circus would be all that keen on having several guards around constantly."

Pavi pondered this for a moment. That might work...for now. But then again, Mina had several late night customers that would visit for more...private performances. And Pavi knew that that was how the woman got most of her food these days. Plus, keeping her trapped in an alarm system might make her feel more like an attraction to be put on for show than she already was.

But, it wasn't like she was going to be stuck there forever. Pavi could always bring her here...permanently. He'd been looking in for a way to do that, but so far, he hadn't come up with an offer good enough for the circus to be willing to part with one of their most frequent attractions. But Pavi was determined, as usual, to get what he wanted.

"Then-a there's that," Pavi sighed, choosing his words carefully again. He didn't know how Amber would take to this suggestion...but she'd have to hear of it at some point or another. "Amber...I've-a been thinking...she could-a stay here permanently, with-a me. I want to take-a her out of-a that place. For good."

Amber made a slight face at that, opening her mouth somewhat and scrunching up her nose. Then she quickly composed herself.
"Pavi, you know Luigi isn't going to go for that. And how are you going to feed her? Do you know how much she eats? Maybe there's something else about her mutations that even she might not know about. Something that could hurt someone or herself."

She shook her head somewhat.
"Plus with Luigi here...It woldn't be a good idea to have her here while he's here. They might try to kill eachother."

Pavi frowned at Amber's expression, but said nothing, deciding to ignore it...for now. He was sure that she would grow to like Mina, in time. And if not...then he would make sure that she was at least civil, if nothing else.

But Luigi was an entirely different story. Pavi didn't doubt for a second that Mina could easily defend herself from the eldest Largo, unless he were to employ some sort of sneaky tactic. But he would still ensure that she be protected at all times when and if she were to be coming here soon.

But if Mina were to harm Luigi, even in self-defense, it would lead to trouble. And Pavi knew it. "Amber, I'm-a pretty sure that-a we have enough-a blood to support her," Pavi smirked, rolling his eyes. The only way that Mina could have been more supplied in a place like GeneCo was if she ate organs as well.

"As-a for fratello...I'll-a handle him. I'd-a rather have-a her here with-a him than in that-a horrid place," he muttered, frowning slightly. "Especially the way they've-a been regulating her-a feeding schedule...practically starving her to-a death."

Amber nodded considering having Mina move in with them. For starters it made Pavi happy, and if she did something that made Pavi happy then chances are he would go along with her on future endevoars. But there was still the problem of Luigi. Amber knew that Pavi couldn't "handle" Luigi, no matter what he said.

"Maybe, you're going about this the wrong way, Pavi." Amber said slowly and carefully. "For starters she might not like the idea of moving in with you so soon, after all you've known eachother two months. Tops. It might be going a little fast for her, even if the other place is bad."
She thought for a moment.

"If we got her, her own place. Like near us. That way she could have her freedom, but be near you, without feeling like she was moving to fast."
And I wouldn't have to share my home with another person, Amber thought to herself.

[Luigi Largo]

Luigi stood outside the door of the dining room. Ear pressed against the door, listening in on the conversation between his siblings. Most of it was muffled due to the distance. But there was one good thing about old houses, most noises were amplified.

He didn't catch much of their conversation but he knew one thing. They were both planning on doing something with Mina. Move her in to their home it sounded like. There would be no way in Heaven, Hell, and Earth that Luigi would ever, ever let that happen.
Now would be the time to put his plan into action while the two of them were away. He took out his cell phone and quickly dialed the number.

"Hello, this is Luigi Largo...I am speaking with the Ringleader yes. I have a business propostion for you that would make us both very,very, happy..."
